Kaldi Africa is a specialty coffee roastery and bakery dedicated to celebrating the richness, diversity and potential of Africa’s coffee and cocoa.

From carefully selected African coffee beans and natural cocoa to freshly baked products and professional coffee solutions, everything we do is driven by a commitment to quality, craftsmanship and an exceptional customer experience.

Our journey began with a simple belief: some of the world’s finest coffee grows right here in Africa, and it deserves to be experienced at its very best.

OUR STORY

Inspired by a Legend.

Our name takes inspiration from Kaldi, the legendary Ethiopian goat herder whose discovery is closely associated with the story of coffee.

Legend has it that Kaldi noticed his goats became unusually energetic after eating bright red berries from a particular tree. Curious about their newfound energy, he tried the berries himself — setting in motion a story that would eventually travel from Ethiopia to the rest of the world.

That spirit of curiosity and discovery lives on at Kaldi Africa.

Since 2010, we have built our craft around understanding coffee, carefully selecting our beans and roasting them to reveal the distinctive qualities within each origin.

From our roastery in Lagos, we continue to explore what African coffee can be creating memorable experiences while sharing the remarkable character of our continent with every cup.

Africa is the birthplace of coffee and home to some of the world's most distinctive coffee-growing regions.

We celebrate that heritage by sourcing African-grown coffees selected for their quality and character. Every origin tells a different story through its aroma, flavour, body and finish qualities we work carefully to preserve and enhance through roasting.

Our appreciation for African produce extends beyond coffee. Natural cocoa is also an important part of the Kaldi offering, bringing another of the continent's remarkable flavours to our customers.

For us, being African is more than where we operate. It is at the heart of what we create and the story we want to share with the world.
